About Us
Welcome to the Benalto Agricultural Society! We are a volunteer run organization that focuses on bettering the community. We are home to many different organizations such as the Shadow Riders 4-H club, and the Medicine River Pony club. We are host to the Benalto Stampede and Fair, which has been running for 107 years. We are proud to keep the tradition of the Pro Rodeo alive in Benalto and are always looking for volunteers to help us with the Rodeo and other Ag Society events. Riding Memberships are available for our indoor riding arena and three outdoor arenas. Just call our groundskeeper for availability. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the Ag Society, you can fill out a membership form found here. Benalto Agriculture Society Clubs
Shadow Riders 4-H Club
The Shadow Riders 4H Club is an all exclusive branch in which horseback riding is the main focus. Throughout this clubs legacy, families have came from all around Central Alberta to experience the clubs quality equine education, and family atmosphere. The club provides an opportunity for members to learn from experienced instructors about success in riding and other equine related attributes. From early September until June, you can find busy Shadow Rider members having lessons, attending meetings, practicing a drill pattern, speaking their way to success, bonding with friends, and so much more. For all things equine, the club offers, light horse projects, young horse, jumping, dressage, reining, drill team and a variety of other programs. Shadow Riders also have the opportunity to take part in a crocheting project. The Shadow Riders 4H club has been based in the Benalto AG grounds for 49 years, and look forward to spending many more in the community.
Medicine River Pony Club
The Medicine River Pony Club has been in operation since 1976 and is part of the Alberta Central Region of the Canadian Pony Club. The Medicine River Pony Club serves Benalto and surrounding area. Members meet each Wednesday evening from February through to August.The Pony Club Motto is: Loyalty, Character and Sportsmanship. Pony Club offers members instruction and competitive opportunities in dressage, show jumping, tetrathlon, Prince Phillips Games, Quiz and Rallies. The Medicine River Pony Club holds its’ annual registration in November at the Benalto Agricultural Grounds- “Home of the Medicine River Pony Club”.
