We are a volunteer run organization that serves to support the community and it’s surrounding area. Our main objective is to provide programs, facilities and events that strive to enrich the lives of members, guests and visitors. Everyone is welcome and we are always accepting new members and volunteers. We invite you to attend or access our facilities and wish you a fantastic year ahead!

2025 BENALTO FAIR & STAMPEDE
Featuring four days of action packed, adrenaline pumping, Pro Rodeo
Established in 1917, the Benalto Fair and Stampede hosts one of the oldest pro rodeos in Canada. Our on site camping facilities and excellent logistics make it a favorite destination for rodeo fans and followers of all ages. Come join us for an unforgettable weekend of heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, pro rodeo action! You won’t want to miss our BULLS AT THE BUCK OFF featuring World Professional Bull-riding kicking things off on Thursday July 3th followed by our pro rodeo July 4th 5th and 6th. One of Alberta’s best kept secrets, there’s a reason we’re still here and planning our 107th Benalto Fair and Stampede. Come check it out!

Whether you are looking to join the Ag Society, use the riding facilities, or help with the Pro Rodeo we are always looking for new members
Benalto Agricultural Society Membership
- Non-refundable Memberships are valid for one year from September 1stAugust 31st of each calendar year.
- Membership is purchased.
- By purchasing a Benalto Agricultural Society Membership, you have agreed to a volunteer commitment.
- Volunteer Commitments are to be performed during “work -bees” or during the “Benalto Fair and Stampede”. (16 Hours with a Family Membership or 8 Hours with an Individual Membership)
- Volunteer hours MUST be completed before any Arena Use Membership will be renewed
- If you are a member of the Medicine River Pony Club and or the Shadow Riders 4-H Club, you are affiliated with the Benalto Agricultural Society.
- If you have purchased a Benalto Agricultural Society Membership through these groups, you are not required to purchase another $5.00 general membership.
- There must be at least one (1) adult family member (18 years or older) who holds an active Benalto Agricultural Society Membership.
- This membership is strictly for INDIVIDUAL or FAMILY use. Any clinics or group rentals are subject to further rental fees.
- A clinic or group consists of 3 or more Arena Members using the arena at any given time.
- The Medicine River Pony Club and Shadow Riders 4-H Club are NOT included in clinic OR group bookings
- ARENA USE BOOKINGS WILL BE TAKEN NO EARLIER THAN 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE
- Misuse and abuse of the membership in any way will result in immediate termination of the membership privileges and no refund of the membership fee(s) will be granted.
- All correspondence is through email and the website. It is your responsibility to keep updated!
- All Benalto Agricultural Society Members possessing an Arena Use Membership will be given be allowed to schedule and must follow Arena Use Guidelines
- Non compliance with the Arena Use Guidelines may result in the suspension of the arena agreement with NO reimbursement of funds
- 4H and Pony club members will only be permitted to ride during scheduled ride times. Ex. Parents and siblings are not permitted to rode on the grounds without a riding membership.
- In the event of a scheduled ride being cancelled, 4H or Pony Club members may only ride at the discretion of their leader. Siblings and parents are not permitted to ride.
Arena Use Guidelines
- An Arena Use Membership is only available to those already possessing a Benalto Agricultural Society Membership
- An Arena Use Membership will not be issued until a Benalto Agricultural Membership is purchased.
Arena Usage Guidelines
Individual Membership or Family Membership
- A total of 6 hours per week( Sunday to Monday) will be permitted.
- Not more than two hours per visit.
- Not more than three hours per week during peak times (5-9pm and weekends).
- An additional rider may accompany a person with a Riding Membership at a fee of $25.00. These funds must be e-transferred to the AG treasurer prior to riding. The visitor is the responsibility of the person holding the riding membership. Failure to do so will result in loss of riding privileges with no refund given.
Expectations
- Clean up after yourself and your equine/bovine both inside and outside of the riding arena. There is a muck bucket just inside the riding arena East entrance. This applies to all riding rings, parking area and grass area.
- At no time can member(s) use or borrow any equipment, tools, or articles belonging to the Benalto Agricultural Society.
- Ride ONLY in arena you have booked
- Members must conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Facility rentals will take priority over ride time availability; make sure you schedule your ride time(s).
- Report any concerns or unusual circumstances to the Benalto Agricultural Society immediately. Site Manager (587)877-2424
- Park in a reasonable fashion so as not to restrict access.
- Turn off the lights and close the doors when you leave the riding arena.
- All dogs must be on a leash at all times and under control. No dogs permitted in the Leisure Centre, Ag Centre Lobby or Ag Centre Kitchen.
- For clinic or group rentals, it is the responsibility of one person to collect the fees and turn it into the Benalto Agricultural Society
- There will be NO storage of ANY personal equipment and or supplies in any of the arenas. If any personal equipment and or supplies are stored, it will be at your own risk and there will be an extra charge of $20.00 per day.
Safety Rules
- The Benalto Agricultural Society mandates that all junior riders (ages 18 years and under) must wear a helmet, when riding.
- All animals will be treated humanely.
- The maximum speed limit for all vehicles on the grounds is 20 km/hr.
- Report any faulty or damaged equipment or damage of grounds to the Benalto Agricultural Society immediately.
- To protect your own personal liability the Benalto Agricultural Society recommends that you have your own membership to the Alberta Equestrian Federation. See www.albertaequestrian.com
- Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- All riders must fill in and sign the attached Release from Liability form(s) BEFORE riding.
- YOU MUST complete the arena use log before any arena use.
- In the case of an emergency, Muster Point is the flag poles. Central part of the Ag Grounds.
